Watercolour
Watercolours can help you create stunning artworks. They can also lead to some epic fails. If you are starting your watercolour journey, here are some simple tips to help you on your way.
Always use two jars of water – one to clean your brush the other to mix your paint. Clean water keeps the colours fresh and bright.
Tape paper to your surface to avoid a wrinkled finish.
It is common to use too much or too little water when painting with watercolours. Too much water leads to pools and bleeding. Too little and the paint won’t flow freely, and you will use more than you need to.
Allow watercolour paint to dry between layers, especially when you are adding details. Painting on a dry surface will make the details more accurate and prevent excessive spreading.
Make sure you are painting on a level surface. If you are painting on a slight slope, your paints will start to run in one direction and spoil all your hard work.
